Jurgen Klopp was visibly emotional at his young side's efforts to defeat Chelsea on Sunday, with seven academy graduates enjoying game time owing to a number of first-team injuries. Conor Bradley and maybe even James McConnell may get the nod tonight, with Darwin Nunez, Dominic Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo and Mo Salah rated at 50-50. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Diogo Jota, Alisson and Curtis Jones are all injured.

If the Saints can pull off an upset at Anfield, they'll reach their third FA Cup quarter-final in the past four seasons. Having disposed of Walsall and Watford thus far, Russell Martin's side will hope to use the FA Cup to improve a recent run of three defeats in their last four league games after going 22 games unbeaten from the end of September to mid-February. Ryan Fraser, Ross Stewart and Juan Larios all absent through injury, though top scorer Adam Armstrong is likely to get a start.

Jurgen Klopp’s last dance at Liverpool is off to the perfect start.

Klopp steps down as manager at the end of the season and looks determined to go out on a high.

Having collected his eighth trophy with the Merseyside club on Sunday – beating Chelsea 1-0 to win the English League Cup – he is targeting another three before he walks away. The Premier League title, FA Cup and Europa League are still within reach in what could be a glorious finale.

References to Klopp’s “Last Dance” have started to trend on social media, likening his Liverpool farewell to Michael Jordan’s final year with the Chicago Bulls.

Jordan won his sixth NBA championship with the Bulls in 1998, which inspired the recent documentary series, The Last Dance.

Now Liverpool fans are savoring their final moments with Klopp, who was hired in 2015 and went on to transform a sleeping giant of English soccer into one of the most dominant forces in Europe again.

Supporters carried flags and banners with messages of thanks to their outgoing manager as they made the short walk from Wembley Park tube station to the stadium. Singing loudly, it was a party atmosphere long before kick off and they are hoping for one long party before finally saying goodbye.

He ended Liverpool’s 30-year wait for the English league title in 2020 and has won a full set of major trophies including the Champions League, FA Cup, Club World Cup and European Super Cup in a little over eight years.

He has rebuilt the team that won the Champions League and Premier League in back-to-back years in 2019 and 2020 and instilled a winning mentality into a club that spent decades in the shadow of Manchester United.

Despite losing star players like Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Jordan Henderson in recent years, Liverpool’s youthful team is at the top of the league and one point clear of defending champion Manchester City.

Former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso is an early favorite to succeed Klopp after leading Bayer Leverkusen to the top of the German league in only his second season with the club.

Jurgen Klopp has already ensured his farewell tour will at least have one trophy to parade having lifted the Carabao Cup with a cast of youngsters on Sunday and the German is offered a favourable chance of progress this evening.

Championship side Southampton head to Anfield in the fifth round and have bigger fish to fry themselves. Though only recently on a record-breaking run of form under Russell Martin, the Saints have lost three of their last five to leave their automatic promotion hopes in doubt.

Jurgen Klopp's team will be heading into this game on the back of a brilliant Carabao Cup final win over Chelsea. They have also won their last four games in a row and will be high in confidence.

Southampton have lost their last two games and will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways. It will be difficult though, given Liverpool's recent form and confidence.

Ryan Gravenberch was stretchered off the field following a severe tackle by Moises Caicedo in the Carabao Cup final. Wataru Endo was also seen leaving the stadium on crutches.

Additionally, Mohamed Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Darwin Nunez were all sidelined, failing to pass late fitness tests, and thus missing from Sunday's squad.

The list of confirmed absentees for the Reds includes Stefan Bajcetic (calf), Thiago Alcantara (muscle), Ben Doak (knee), Joel Matip (knee), Trent Alexander-Arnold (knee), Diogo Jota (knee), Alisson Becker (hamstring), and Curtis Jones (shin).

On the Southampton side, Ryan Fraser, on loan from Newcastle, needed crutches after a knee injury during the first half against Millwall. He will be unavailable for the Cup fixture.

Fraser's injury adds to Southampton's growing list of unavailable players, which already includes Ross Stewart (muscle) and Juan Larios (unspecified). Furthermore, David Brooks, on loan from Bournemouth, is ineligible to play due to being cup-tied from participating with the Cherries earlier in the competition.
